600 houses, 21 km of road destroyed
According to the satellite monitoring agency of the European Union, lava has destroyed 600 houses and about 21 km of road in its path. 637 acres of cultivated land and banana plantations have been destroyed. Due to the continuous explosion, there is a danger of spreading poisonous gas.
6 thousand people were rescued The
local disaster department has warned people to go to a safe place immediately. More than 6 thousand people have been rescued. No death or serious injury has been reported so far.
90 crore relief package announced The
Spanish government has announced a relief package of 90 crore rupees for the volcano affected area. Of this, Rs 50 crore will be spent on rebuilding the destroyed houses. La Palma has been declared a disaster zone. About 85,000 people live here. It is dependent on agriculture and tourism.
